I'm getting an "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" error message in a "blue screen of death" whenever I boot into Windows 7.
For some reason, if I physically remove my Time Machine backup drive I get to boot normally into Windows.
I'm on a mid-2010 Mac Pro 5,1 where I've done a clean installation of MacOS 10.13 (High Sierra) on a physically separate hard drive, and used Bootcamp Assistant to install Windows 7 on that same drive.
I also want to add that when I installed Windows (using Bootcamp Assistant), in the part where the Windows installer asks where I want to install Windows and I select the drive partition named "BOOTCAMP" and select "Format" I got this error message:
Windows is unable to install to the selection location. Error: 0x80300024
I read somewhere that removing unnecessary drives could help, so I removed all but that one drive (with MacOS 10.13 and Windows on it) and I could continue where I left off without any problems.
Since then I've put the other drives back, but for some reason Windows won't accept my Time Machine backup drive which is also installed inside my Mac Pro. The Mac side works fine and Time Machine regularly backs up to that drive.
I've tried holding down the F8 key while booting into Windows, attempting to repair the Windows drive, but to no avail.
Does anyone know what the cause of all this is and how to solve it?
