irregular MIDI notes

Hello
I started up logic express 7.2 today, intending to do some MIDI work. But when I loaded up any virtual instrument and played a regular C scale on my keyboard, this is what it sounded like

You don't have any mixer effects, an incorrect virtual instrument, or any of that going on, do you?
