Irritating issue with iphone 5 and earbuds

Do any of you have a problem with phone call audio cutting in and out when you use the headset for a phone call outside? I've tried both the old and new earbuds so thats not the issue. I can also have a normal (sans headset) phone call in the same environment and thats perfect.

The iphone 4S never had this issue. I could go for a walk and answer phone calls. Now when I answer its like the caller's audio cuts off for several seconds seemingly at random intervals. It makes a normal conversation impossible.

Man this phone absolutely rocks but this is a pisser.

Many users have discovered if they move the plug around it creates static. However, this is not seen when the plug is stable and not moving.

Distance permitting, I would bring the said to an Apple store and nicely ask for a replacement.
