Or rather does 601g feel much lighter than 680g? I wonder if most ppl will even notice...

I think that when you get to such a low weight, a little difference will make a difference. We will soon find out for certain though!

yes - yes - yes

Find something that weighs 0.2 lbs. Hold it in your right hand about 8-12 inches from your face. Do the same thing with your left hand while holding nothing...weight for about 45 minutes. Ask yourself, "Self, which hand is more tired? Right or Left?".

I am guessing 0.2 lbs will have an effect on your answer.

...

I think that is about the weight of a candy bar. Likely it will be tough to notice a differance cdrom the ipad to the ipad 2 however if you went from the ipad 2 back to the old ipad it would be more noticable

0.2 lbs is the same as 4 ipod nanos...Apple subtracted 4 ipod nanos from the iPad 1 and out popped an iPad 2...

Thank you for that very visual explanation... Lol

(EDIT) read popped as 'pooped'. Heh

0.2lbs equals 3.2oz which is the exact weight of 16 Quarters (25¢). Hold 16 quarters in your hand and tell me if you feel the weight, I certainly do. That, combined with the much thinner design will give the device a much smaller/lighter feel.

Nice... Ok yup, definitely noticeable.

0.2 lbs. is:

  1. A 13.33% decrease from iPad 1's 1.5 lbs.
  2. 1/3 of an Apple TV 2
  3. 2/3 of an iPhone 4
  4. Around 65 paperclips.
  5. 700 calories of exercise, if the 0.2 lbs were body fat you wanted to burn.

.2lb is only noticeable to people who think "Thin" is actually a good trend to continue.
