Curious question.

I have a new iPhone 11 Pro Max and I have the offer for 1 year free Apple TV+.

- if I also buy the new iPad Pro - can I extend it by another year??????

I came to ask the same question...I have bought an iPad and iPhone since my original 1 free year with an Apple TV.

I bought two refurb macs from Apple and received a year on each so my Apple TV+ now expires April 2022
How so? I bought an iPad, Apple TV and iPhone SE. Only got 1 year after activating the iPad, then the prompt disappeared on the other devices.

Interesting. My wife bought an iphone 11 when they first came out and we signed up. I just bought and received a MBA and keep getting reminders to sign up....I have not tried just assuming that they will shoot it down.

If you want to keep getting years free then you’d need to made additional accounts that aren’t on your current family plan. It’s not terrible if you have an Apple TV but it’s a bit of a hassle if you only have a phone or tablet.

I’m thinking so long as it costs less than ten dollars a month I’ll stay subscribed once I have to pay for it.

Does that mean that if I were to purchase a new device, say Apple TV 4K, when I set it up, I should use my wife iCloud account (already in the family plan) to set up the new TV and it should give us another year of service? Thanks.

Actually it’s an additional step. Apparently in the disclaimer for TV+ the free trial for a year is only available once, for any account on a family plan. If your wife is on your current family plan then she would not have access to a second free year.
For this to be worth it what you would need to do is make a brand new Apple account for your Apple TV and use the free year trial on that. You wouldn’t be able to watch on your main accounts on your phone or iPad but when you are home and in front of an Apple TV or Apple TV4k you would have access to the shows.

Gotcha! That's actually a fine option as I only view the atv+ content on the atv anyway. Thank you.
