...enough juice to power the 30" ACD? I sometimes get mouse lag on 1920x1200 but I don't know if it's system resource or something external to the mac, i.e faulty mouse optics.

the 30" ACD is also rumoured to get an update so I'm not sure if it's a good time to take the plunge. It's a want more than a need.

Any thoughts?

So you've already tried one?... What sort of GPU (Mac) are we talking about? The RAM is only ever part of the equation. :)

MBP's X1600. System memory is 2GB but as I said, if install a lot of applications, not necessarily run them in resource, I will get sluggish performance on a 1920x1200 display. There are a few people on Flickr and elsewhere that are running the 30" ACD with their MBPs but I suspect the majority are running 256MB X1600 unlike myself.
