Is $1500 for a brand new 15" Macbook Pro straight from the box a good deal

I know they are gonna have new models of the Macbook Pro come out any day now, so should I jump at this opportunity? Basically I know a guy who bought the 15" macbookpro a few days ago at best buy because his credit is destroyed and wanted to get some quick cash. He seems pretty firm on $1500. Is this a great deal. Should I hold out until the imminent relaunch? Does anybody have any idea on how the new macbook pro's will be superior to the previous model? Thanks!
 
OK here are the specs:

15 inch screen
4 gb of Ram
2.53 GHZ processor
250 GB of hard drive
Is $1500 a good deal. Should I jump at it or wait for the new models to come around?

Which GPU? The 9400M or the 9600GT + 9400M?
 
It's 9400m with 256mb of dd3 sdram. Whatever that means.
 
Horrible deal. $1449 for a referbished model. I'd wait. No deal worth jumping on. If $1000-$1200 maybe. Even then meehh. I don't prefer glossy anyway.

This guy has a best buy credit card and in exchange for cash he's willing to drop the price 500 bucks on anything at best buy? I want a MacBook pro but what kind and with what specs should I get? I got about a month to work with... Should I hope the new mbp's will be out by then? Thanks again.
 
So he wants to buy an item of your choice for 1500$ and then sell it to you for 1000$?

Your build-in red warning lights should be going nuts....

Did he also tell you that you're the last remaining heir of some rich Nigerian prince and if you give him your bank account and SSN he'll transfer millions of dollars into your account?
 
Just wait mang....just wondering...if he charged it on his best buy credit and his credit is "destroyed"...when they repo his shiz....wouldn't the mbp come up on their list to repossess?
 
thats the same I paid for my refurb with the same specs, minus the HDD. But that was a while ago so now I dunno wait?
