Is 577mb the smallest 'photos and camera' gets

only have a 16gb iPad 4 and trying to free up as much space as I can for tv for a succession of planes trains and automobiles.


All my photos are in iCloud and so I didn't want to delete them in case they deleted from the cloud so I turned off everything in the photos bit in preferences and filled up the iPad to bursting point.

Sure enough when I open photos there are no photos there. However when I go to preferences and storage it says 577mb for photos and camera. Is this the app itself then and as good as it gets?

That seems to be abnormal. Can you do a full reset after backing up your data? You don’t have any photos any way. Set up your iPad as new.
