Have the 14 Pro. At work with poor signal noticing "No Cell Coverage" using up a large % of battery. I have poor reception at work and rely on wifi. Makes me wonder if using LTE would be better. Anyone have input? Didn't have this issue with old Iphone before the 14 pro.

Also what about when you DO have reception and have wifi as well like at home. Would 5G drain more battery when phone is just chillin on desk compared to LTE or will it not make difference?

Yes, if you know you are in a location for long lengths of time, turn off 5G from the data settings. It will be searching for 5G, however if you have poor reception with any data connection it will eat through battery regardless.

What setting is it on currently? Auto? or use more 5G?

Do not the “auto” setting handle this for you? I should be a pain to turn 5G on and off all the time. The “auto’ setting does it for you and saves battery.

I always have 5g off. Its a huge battery hog. Also it isn't much better than 5ge on at&t anyway

At least on the 12, 5G is a huge battery hog, it can drain a full battery within 3 to 4 hours without any phone use, even when the phone is connected via wlan and thus 5G is unused (just associated).

I usually keep it only on in AP mode (where it is usually connected to a power supply), or if, for some reason, 4G has problems connecting.

Yes. I have noticed that 5G drains quiet a bit of battery. As much as I would like to use 5G I have it off to save battery. Not I have the use for super fast data.
