Maybe I am wrong. I'm not completely sure but is 8GB of ram adequate for iOS development?

I've gotten along just fine with between 4 and 8gb for the past 6 years doing mostly iOS and web development work. The only time you'll really feel a RAM crunch with 8gb is if you're an avid multitasker with tons of safari tabs open or are editing high-res video or photos.

I keep going back and forth between the 13" MacBook Pro with Touch Bar and the 15" MacBook Pro with Touch Bar. I'm not an avid multitasker as I usually only have Chrome or Safari, iTerm 2, Sketch, Atom and Xcode open at the same time. I've only used about 1/2 of my 256GB storage on my current machine. So not concerned there.
