I have been offered a 23" Apple Cinema Display for £390 and it's 2 years old.

Is this any different from the current spec of Apple Cinema Displays?

Thanks

According to the buyer's guide, the 20 and 23" ACDs were last updated Aug 06, which would make your offer a last-gen model.

Does that make any difference? I've noticed that on the newer model the 23" display has a brightness of 400 cd/m2 (up from 270 cd/m2) and the features 700:1 contrast ratios (both up from 400:1).

Does this make any difference in the real world?

What are you using the display for? how much do you use it? and have you seen the display because the condition is what really matters. If you take a current gen 30" and smack it with a baseball bat then it's no better than a dell monitor.

I've seen pictures and if I buy it, I'll be going to collect it so can see it working first (just want an idea of what to expect before I take a 2 1/2 hour trip to collect it).

I will be using the display with a Mac Pro for some video editing, web development, image editing (nothing pro though).
