Is a 9600GT PC Card worth trying to get working on a 1,1?

Hey guys,

After the massive disappointment that the ATI 3870 couldn't (and won't) utilize OpenCL, I'm looking to do a cheap upgrade. I have an EVGA 512MB 9600GT that I don't need, so I was wondering if anyone would have insight on flashing this with the 8800GT EFI32 ROM and seeing if it would work.

Thoughts?

It might very well be possible, but there is no way to do it right now. Best would be to "sew" the EFI32 Mac ROM to the original PC BIOS, but nobody has done that yet.

The big question is whether the EFI sets clocks for card init, or if it has a "GOTO" line that grabs the info from a predetermined spot in PC BIOS.
