Just having a bit of speculative fun in thinking where future iPads are going. I mean it's difficult to further simplify what is essentially is a slab rectangle.
Sizes and resolutions will continue to fluctuate and perhaps new finishes.

But given Ive's penchant for 'distilling the extraneous', can we see a day where the iPad has no bezel? It would be cool to see images go from edge to egde.:D

I don't know the structural workings of how an iPad is put together so I'm not even sure this is physically possible. :)

I think this would actually depend a bit on software as well. The bezels do serve a purpose now in terms of a spot to hold, an edge to lead into gestures, etc. The software would have to compensate if the bezels were done away with entirely.

Would be a pretty interesting piece to look at the though :D

I think iPads already have thumb rejection when you hold it on the sides. What I'm wondering is what happens to a bezel less iPad when you drop it.

Possible? Probably. Desireable? Not to me. I already have accidental touch-itis w/ the Air.

Going bezel-less would create a lot of stiffness issues with the side. I wouldn't want the forces of a side impact going back into the screen and the backlights. A metal casing taking the shock would seem like better engineering..
