Is a camera bumper necessary?

I'm using a Spigen case in both phones, 6S and 6S+, but I'm a bit afraid about some scratches in the camera lens. Do you recommend some camera bumper or frame to use?

The camera lens is probably the most durable thing on the phone. It's sapphire crystal and can really only be scratched by a diamond.

I thought the lens on the 6S wasn't sapphire.

Saw a scratch test where they were unable to do anything to the camera lens with a sharp steel razor blade...the same blade scratched the screen quite easily.
