I found an offer for a dual 1,42GHz daughtercard inclusive copper heat sink. I own a single CPU G4 MDD 2003 model with 1,25GHz. What keeps me from buying it is the fact that the seller said he received a memory error message while booting his Mac after he installed the dual 1,42GHz card in his G4 MDD dual 1GHz from the year 2002 (not the FW800, which had 133MHz bus speed). My first thought was it's the different system bus speed. But his and my Mac have both 167MHz.
What else could it be? A different ROM perhaps? Insufficient electricity supply? The daughtercard should be working. However there's no reason given why it was exchanged. You can't go much further from a dual 1,42GHz G4. Perhaps it's is even broken and an euphoric idiot bought it.
Any ideas would be greatly apreciated.
