Getting the new iMac 5k and trying to decide on storage.
I've never had a Fusion Drive before or a Mac for that matter so this will be all new to me.

Since this is an All-in-One and it will be right in front of my face, I am wondering if the FD is noisy and/or hot?

THANKS!

From someone new to the Mac where I used to deal with pc noises that sound like an aeroplane about to take off, I can tell you fusion drive/system fan on macs are such a bless. I almost hear nothing.

Good to know, thanks.

What bout heat from the iMac in general?

Currently I have a newly purchased late 2013 one (and about to exchange for the retina). but for this current model. No complains what so ever. The machine is a gem. (I do mainly photography and video editing on it)

There's a special egg-fry adaptor that you can buy for you iMac; it runs that hot! lol

Just kiddin'. It's fine.

My Retina iMac has a Fusion Drive...I've yet to hear it make a sound, and according to iStat both SSD and HDD are sitting at 91 and 93 degrees F, respectively.
