Hello

I have a son, he's 4, and I'm thinking about getting him a used MacBook Air. The only applications are Microsoft Word, and Safari to watch YouTube Videos and websites like Scholstic. I'm thinking a MacBook Air 2010 with 4GB of Ram would be powerful enough to last for about 3 years.

What do you think? The latest security patches doesn't matter because there's nothing confidential, and if it's a little slow it's ok as well.

I hope this is in the right place to post this question

Get him an iPad. Only way to go at that age. Tons of educational apps/games available and easy to use. Portable too. My three-year-old loves hers! Recommended by her pre-school as well.

I strongly agree with the post above that an iPad would be, by far, preferable.

I've been researching the applications/games, and I'm not seeing too many listed. Plus, which iPad do you recommend? My budget is about $150
