I think I'm right in saying that Apple's refurbished iPhones are basically as good as new? Does £589 for a 128gb 12 seem a good deal or not...?

My needs would basically be "an upgrade from my XR" as since its screen replacement it's been behaving a little... oddly :D

I’ve bought a few refurbished items directly from Apple. They’re brought back to new condition and fully tested. They’re basically as good as new and I’ve never had an issue with them. They still come with a one year guarantee like new items do. I can’t comment on the pricing but even if it’s higher than the same model sells for elsewhere I’d still go with Apple.

I read some of the comments in this forum and some would argue the Apple refurbished would be a better buy than new as any component issues (eg battery) would've been fixed during the refurbishment process. At least it would went through another QA process.

That may well be the case. Even if it wasn’t official refurbished products directly from Apple are still a good buy and a better option than buying them refurbished from third party sellers.
