Is a release day purchase possible if you already have a preorder...

I didn't get in on the preorder last night until after the servers had their thermal meltdown. I did however get a 6 plus due for delivery oct 1st - oct 6th. Of course, this isn't soon enough for me.

I used my AT&T upgrade for the preorder but I'm wondering if going to the local Apple Store my get me a phone on release day??

Will I still be eligible to purchase a phone on release day at upgrade price if I have that preorder pending?? Or does my update stay active until my preorder ships??

Your upgrade it gone, sometimes they take days to come back, sometimes minutes.
