Is a thumbnail a permanent file?

Hi All,

I am trying to gain more space back on my imac (20", 2GHz, 10.6.8). I was wondering if I imported iPhoto thumnails to iMovie, can I then delete the video in iPhoto?

No. The thumbnail in iMovie is a link to the video file in iPhoto. If you delete in iPhoto, the video will no longer be available to iMovie.
