Hi from a newbie to this forum.
I'm an electronics engineer, considering building a G4 as an upgrade to my aging G3. I have done a lot researched on the subject, including scouring xlr8yourmac.com. Also, being an engineer, I'm not afraid to tackle some custom wiring/modifications.
Part of what I want to do is use an ATX case and power supply. However, from what I have read, some of the newer G4s have are supplied with 28 volts for the ADC port.
I don't have any plans anytime in the near future to utilize an ADC monitor, so I am wondering if the lack of 28 volts will cause the motherboard to not boot?
I understand that I will have to deal with the nonstandard 22 pin plug, but that should be somewhat trivial.
Thanks in advance for any help!
Ryan
