Is adding wireless charging accessory for iPhone 7 recommended

I have an iPhone 7 - 32GB. I came across a wireless charging accessory which I had ordered some time back but I had forgotten about it. I am using a Belkin transparent cover for my phone. I think this accessory can go withing this cover. Is it worth using this accessory. Will it harm my phone and is the charging acceptably fast enough or is it slow. The convenience of wireless charging seems atttractive but it should not have adverse effect on my phone. Kindly advise.

I have done it for my daughters phone. It’s ok. Charges a little slower than normal.
