I have the 2010 27 inch quad core i5 imac...
it has 4gb ram and 1tb.
I was PLANNING to get an upgrade to 12 gb or an ssd.
Is the new high end 27inch model worth an upgrade?
Im just a high school student so money is a problem for me...
I do some video editing, photo editing, and a little bit of gaming on bootcamp.
Not worth the upgrade?
How much could I sell my current iMac for?

You have a 2010 model and your a HS student. Why on Earth do you think it is necessary to buy a new computer a year later?

Don't buy a new computer every two years if "money is a problem". I know you can sell the old one and get a decent upgrade, but really you have a great computer right now.

I think most people who buy Macs are on no faster than a once every three year cycle. If you want to tweak every year, you probably should consider building your own computer with a modular tower design that you can swap things in and out. You definitely don't want to be buying a new monitor every year (which is part of what you are doing if you are buying an iMac).

You're right.
Im too desperate...
I guess I'll wait another 2 years or so.

Hi, I will tell you that you will not need another desktop in the next 3-4 years. Enjoy yours and be happy about it. Look at it this way......in few years you will be able to purchase an iMac with new design and much faster CPU and GPU than these released today. Congrats to all those who purchased theirs today!!
