I’ve been having an issue with my new 11 pro when trying to reconnect to Verizon LTE after coming out of a tunnel and into a station on the NYC subway where it will say that I have full bars but websites won’t load. I usually have to turn Airplane mode on/off to get it to reconnect and work.

I’ve tried resetting my network settings but that doesn’t seem to solve the issue.

Has anyone else had this issue or solved the problem?

My X used to do that all the time under Penn station. Surprisingly the 11 I just got seems better at holding a signal.

Not just the new iPhones. My Xs Max did this today as well. I just switched from T-Mobile to Verizon today and I never had this issue before. Possibly just Verizon related...

I had that sometimes with my Qualcomm X on T-Mobile. No longer the case with my 11 Pro.

I think it's verzon related. At least they have a signal down there. Used to be with AT&T and once you went underground you had no cell coverage.

NYC Subway Wi-Fi is less than desirable regardless of which carrier you have. Only works in stations not in the tunnels or outside
Also it is not secure

right.I’m talking about the LTE connection to Verizon. Not WiFi.

im having this issue with my Xs max Since I upgraded to iOS 13. It’s not just in the subway though, it’ll happen randomly as well. Have to fully restart the phone to get it to work. When trying to make phone calls, volte won’t work either.

What was your previous phone that worked better than your 11Pro?

I have an appointment today to exchange my 11 pro max for another because of how terrible my LTE service has been. I had the XS before this and its noticeably worse at home and at work. I think some just may be faulty. I also have tried everything from network settings reset to calling verizon. Finally just asked a buddy of mine at the Apple store I shop at and he told me to just exchange it today as he's realized some were better than others also.

Let me know if that solves your issue. If so maybe I'll try to make an appointment.

Before I had the XS and it also had issues underground as well when reconnecting but the 11 pro is worse.

I always had this issue with my X, when entering the station, it would not reconnect, very frustrating. I would constantly need to toggle airplane mode to get it to connect.

Surprisingly, I no longer have this issue with my 11Pro Max, it reconnects almost instantaneously, I’m very happy with the reception overall, much better.

I’m on T-Mobile.

Newer phone models sometimes have nuanced cellular issues. I doubt it's specifically your actual iPhone as much as it is the firmware/carrier version. Happened last year on my XS Max too. A carrier update was pushed through a subsequent software push that remedied it. We may need to hang tight, or at least give Apple the feedback if it persists so they can isolate and fix it.

It’s def a Verizon issue. I had Verizon for a decade and when I enter an elevator and get out, the phone would be stuck in 3G.
Now I’m with T-Mobile and the reconnection to LTE is seamless.

I have this issue with AT&T. There is this particular area on the freeway that causes my internet to stop working. airplane mode turning on and off doesn’t help, I have to restart the phone in order for my cellular data to work again. The signal on the phone shows full bars but will not work.
