So I stood in line for two hours July 11 thinking that i would be getting the best product out there. An iPhone! Well I got it, and everything is great, I am loving the thing. Unfortunatly, it seems my iPhone was cheated out of what I believe to be the best new feature of the iPhone 3G. When His Steveness said the yellow tint was a feature...I thought to myself, well why isn't my screen yellow? Well let's just say, I am outraged. Anyway, I am thinking of taking the phone back tomorrow and seeing if I can get it replaced for a normal phone. I can't believe Apple would only give out feature complete iPhone to some people.:mad::mad:

you can rant in the thread above

Hey Telp

The yellow tint isn't an issue. It's the way Apple put it in the firmware. This actually makes the phone look more accurate compared to the 1st gen.

Doing a restore and upgrading to the latest firmware (the one ending in a 7 and not a 5) helps a lot.

We should also be seeing an app maybe that lets us control the contrast and what not, just like what we do on TV's and monitors. If not on the App store, it could be made for jailbroken iPhones.

Your creating a whole new thread to rant about apple making the display a little warmer? You cant even tell unless you compare side by side with a 1st gen, its not worse its just different. If you are going to cry about that buy an Instinct

I really, really hope this is the case. I've already written to Apple requesting this "feature". It certainly would put to rest all the concerns and arguments about which screen looks better or what is the "correct" color setting. Everyone could just adjust their screen to their liking...and be done with it.

And by the way Mr. Original Poster: Prepare to be slammed for your thread!

But I don't want an Instinct :(:(:(.

:eek: First Apple forgets to include the highly touted sim ejector tool for some phones... now they're leaving out features, I can't believe this... they're becoming more and more like Micro$oft every single day!!!

I just re-read your original post. Heh. I'm a little slow.

Now I want a yellow screen too dammit.

Hahaha. :p

I KNOW!! Can you believe the audacity of them.

No I'm not outraged, I rather like the amber colored screen option.

Beats looking at a rose colored screen.

If they take it away, I'd have to buy those yellow sunglasses to be stylish.
