I would be curious indeed!

Battery is presumably better if it gets 1.5 hours more than 8plus which fared better than X in battery department (tho I didnt have a 8plus that seems to be the consensus on this board/possibly specs too)

Better optics, and A12. And color customization. And a really modest screen size increased, but one nonetheless.

and lighter because not stainless steel but rather aluminum

Also why is Apple advertising ‘the largest *LCD* ever on an iPhone’— is this not an LED LCD?

Wouldn’t LED have a nicer ring to it? Or is it TFT which is LCD? Confused.

The blue is catching my eyes :D

But not enough to lose jailbreak / take a financial beating / lose OLED like you said and sleakness, etc

I wish we could get the Xs in more colors like red.

Although I wouldn’t pay for that alone.

I’m planning to sit this cycle out. My X is fine and should be even better with iOS 12!!!

I also wish the selfie camera was better, which it supposedly is (?) but still 7MP.

So I’m not sure it’s worth upgrading for me

Don’t see why anybody would want to downgrade from a beautiful OLED screen and premium components just because it’s a bit faster By 25%.

I think I'm going 8+ to XR. LCDs for the win.

And all LCDs are TFT. You are thinking IPS vs TN. The new XR is still IPS. Apples LCDs are the best screens out there in my opinion, and that includes the OLEDs. No flickering for the win! Also, LED refers to the type of backlight used, not the screen tech itself.

Another thing - the XR should be lighter than the X, which is good for pockets.

DEFINITELY skipping the XS and XS Max. Not worth it.

I might go from X to XR cause it'll make my phone bill less, as the monthly installments on the XR should be less...I would think.

Then again, I can just pay the rest of my phone off and freely change carriers next year. AT&T is getting too expensive. Hmm.

iPhone X is 6.14 ounces. iPhone XR is 6.84 ounces.
iPhone XR has a 6.1-inch (diagonal) all-screen LCD Multi‑Touch display with IPS technology

That's a downgrade...

No stainless steel...
Thicker bezels...
Debatable but consensus is still OLED > LCD
Not to mention SINGLE camera lens... (means no bokeh)

I know iPhone XR is new but, what are you thinking!? o_O

I’m not thinking of upgrading but I’m sure someone is for the previously mentioned reasons

Color
A12
And new camera even if one
And battery

Some people would
Value all that over an oled and dual cams. But not i. I don’t wanna trade up anything. My
X jail broken is king

YES to Bokeh. Clearly you weren't paying attention. The XR has bokeh with a single lens.

I stand corrected then. But still, with a single lens system, I doubt it'd be an UPGRADE from the dual camera lens system of iPhone X.

While I’d assume you’re right we can’t forget that the Pixel does this with one camera and reviews showed the pixels camera was great. So idk. I will have to wait and see. The XS and Max does not interest me at all. I’m coming from a X and 8 that I go back and forth with...

Probably going to upgrade from my 6s to the Xr 128 gb. Both Xs's are too expensive and I definitely like the Xr better than the X. Batterylife will be awesome and that is paramount to me. Camera is a little upgrade from the X aswell, as is Face ID. Don't care that much for oled. But I need to see and hold it first.

I'm thinking the same thing. I have a 8+ now and did have a note 7 with AMOLED before that, really didn't notice a difference going with the "crappier" LCD....for now XR seems like my choice plus will make my payments lower LOL.

The XR would easily be my pick, if they hadn't removed 3D Touch. I'm kinda partial to that and use it a lot. The killer feature of the Xs (as in: what kills it) for me is its price over here in Shitsville.

the only feature i used 3D touch for was to scroll through a body of text using the keyboard.

any idea if they implemented this still but with a long press?

Does no 3D touch mean no taptic engine? Or are they independent from one another?

I'd argue I'd miss the subtle vibration motor more than 3D touch itself if both end up missing...

Can't you just use gboard and use that feature with the keyboard? I use it on my iPad without 3d touch. I know some don't want to change keyboards but I'd think it's an option.
