I've been contemplating buying either a Gear Fit or Gear 2. The new Android wear and Moto 360 specifically have me wanting to hold out. Is anyone else here planning on buying a new Gear, or are you holding out? If so, for what?

I also have a preference to more classic watches, I alternate between my Tissot and Tag currently.

That being said, I think I would consider picking up the Moto 360. Depends on if it ends up looking as nice as it does in their pictures. I want my watch to still be classically stylish even if its a smart watch. I've considered a Pebble Steel but I prefer a round face for my watch.

I am looking forward to seeing what the Moto 360 has to offer. For me, the main reason for not getting one is the fact that it isn't a stand alone product. You have to have a smartphone near it to get notifications etc. If I need a smartphone with me, then there really isn't a reason to get a smartwatch.

With the advent of Android Wear, to wait seems the smart option. Also, not only will the options be interesting, but more favorable pricing should result.

I agree with this completely. I am however interested in the Fit for running. I might wait to see more hands on with the Moto 360 before I jump the gun on the Gear fit and 2.

Regardless of the fact that I don't use a Samsung phone making a Gear useless for me, I still have no interested, especially with the prospects offered by Android Wear devices and potentially by Apple.

I was a Pebble kickstarted supporter and used it on and off for a while but finally just tossed it in the used gadget drawer in my office where it'll likely stay. I liked have quick access to notifications--you don't realize how handy it is until you've used it for a while--but continued to have sporadic connectivity issues that usually required a complete reboot/repairing and even that often took a few tries. Add that to the fact that it's not that attractive of a device (and that's being kind) and I'm back to wearing a traditional watch if I wear one at all.

I do wear a Fitbit and like having activity tracking so if I try another smart watch, it'll need to have a good execution of fitness/health tracking. If that functionality is incorporated in something that looks as good as the Moto360 AND has the Google Now type features, I'll likely give it another go--just not with anything available right now.

really want the gear fit as a fitness freak...plus gives me same notifications as the gear 1...but did i need both? no but i want it :D

I thought about the Gear 2, but after the Moto360 was shown I now have zero desire for a Gear 2. The Gear fit looks interesting, not for the fitness fad stuff but because of its form factor. So I'd say no, I don't plan on buying any of the Gear family, although 3 months after release when you can get a Gear 2 for $150 I might check one out. Samsung is digging its own grave in the smartwatch market.

I was thinking of getting the Fit, but that desire has left my mind. I want a Moto360 with the leather strap.

I have a nexus 5, and although I really im interested in the gear 2, I think i'll be waiting for the android gear to come out. I think holiday 2014 will be a big one for all these 'smartwatches'
