is apple care world wide & what do you need?

say if i were to buy a used macbook with apple care.

say i am from Canada and I am buying the mac from the states.

is apple care world wide?

what do i need? the serial #/ receipt etc?

I think it will work.

I remember when I had a US bought iPhone 4 and I moved to London for a year and was having issues with the charger. Took it to the Apple store in Covent Garden and they covered it without issues.

So I assume it will work with a laptop...why don't you just call Apple Care and ask? Just tell them you're buying a laptop in the U.S. but you're from Canada.
