Is Apple Maps improved in iOS 7?

This is probably not really answering your question but today I had a very good experience with Apple maps that *might* be new (I honestly dont remember ever experiencing this before but it might have been there).
I hit the interstate and was immediately in a traffic jam (hardly moving). For kicks, I opened the maps app to see if any traffic info was available (never once used it before). No kidding, there was a little dotted red line up the interstate that stopped just before the next exit. Since I had many exits to pass I was excited thinking that the jam would stop soon... and it did! Nearly right were the dotted lines ended.
I'm not in a major city (West Palm Beach, FL) so I wasnt expecting anything to show up. It was a very cool thing.
