I applied at Apple a few times and never got the job. I was a little disappointed but as time moved on I remembered conversations I've had with previous Apple employees and also remember dealing with Apple pre Apple Store when I was managing a 3rd party Apple Sales and Service shop. It was during my time servicing Apple products that I think was the beginning of my decline as an Apple Fan Boy. After an iMac recall and having to replace so many logic boards I really started wondering, "Is Apple as great as they say they are?"

Anyhow there have been stories about the once great Steve Jobs and his bullying of Apple employees that is well known and public. There are also stories that don't go public and you hear them in passing. So remember before your iPhone was put in that box it went through a process that involved many different people to get it to you. Read this latest article about Apples work environment and tell me what do you think?

I don’t know what to think about this situation. Employees should be allowed to discuss important issues, including those that may be uncomfortable for leadership. However, sometimes the folks in these discussions become a huge pain in the ass and start to introduce their own toxicity. If it begins to seem like that person isn’t happy working there and is no longer a positive contributor then they probably should be let go—you don’t want to pay a person who hates their job and thinks you’re not doing good work yourself. I’m not sure what the case is here.

As a customer I’m happy enough that I’m still sticking with them, but I do wish they’d make some changes and that there was more competition in these markets.

It's a company and companies have a lot of different kinds of jobs and reward mechanisms. If you're a chip designer, then your experiences may be far different from an entry-level person in the Apple Store.

Lots of issues in Apple for sure. For some reason Macrumors chose to ignore this recent situation. It was covered by other Apple centric sites as well as general tech sites.
