Ive got a late 2006 Macbook that has given me many years of great work! I noticed last night that in the area where your hand would naturally rest when using the trackpad was starting to crack. Its now a whole "sliver" hanging loose. Has anyone had their case replaced recently?? As I mentioned I was wondering if they were still replacing them even though its out of warranty. Also, for those that have had them replaced, what was the turn around time? Did it have to be sent off or was it done in store??

It's covered for three years from the date of purchase. With a Late 2006 you are likely outside this window. You could probably buy a brand new one and do it yourself for around $75.
