My account is under my sister's name and I purchased AppleCare+. I was just emailed my contract which has her name, but I'd like to change the name to mine at some point, obviously.

I'm gonna be moving out of the country next year and don't want to run into issues if I take my phone in for a repair under Apple Care outside of the states.

You can't have a warranty replacement for an iPhone if the phone's from a foreign country. With or without AppleCare I doubt you'd be able to claim a replacement anywhere outside of the nation you purchased your phone in.

Why not? my husband purchased all of his MACs in the UK, and yet the Apple Stores here service his notebooks in the US under AppleCare.

Any users with experience doing this, specifically for the Iphone?

Since AppleCare+ has been available for all of 5 days I think your best bet is to call Apple and ask them rather than try to find someone in an online forum that may have experience with such a unique situation in such a short time.

Why ask people on a forum who don't know when the T&Cs are online?

10. Transfer of Plan
Subject to the restrictions set forth below, you may make a one-time permanent transfer of all of your rights under the Plan to another party...

4.1 Hardware Service and ADH Coverage Area
Apple may restrict hardware service and ADH coverage to the Covered Equipment’s original Country of Purchase.

Warranty (as opposed to ADH) is valid anywhere.

Sorry if I wasn't clear enough.....

I want to know how it worked for AppleCare - minus the plus. There should be many other people who purchased their phone in the US and had to be serviced outside of the US using AppleCare, right?

Dad, don't worry I'll go ahead and make the call to Apple if no one responds.:)
