i would of thought so, any problem with your mac that isn't software related and wasn't caused by physical damage should be covered in your warranty. If you make an appointment in the apple store at the genius bar the guys there will hopefully sort it out.

Yes. Mine didn't work and they told me it definitely wasn't software related. So yes Apple warranty.
