iPhone 17 Is base iPhone 17 a worthy upgrade from a 13 pro?

I would like to defer to those with more knowledge of the specs and ask if a 17 is a definite upgrade to the 13 pro. It's for my wife. She's running low on storage and I have informed her it's been long enough and she's getting a new phone lol

For tech stuff I usually ensure she has the best when we buy, but she looked over this years offerings and likes the base iPhone models best.

From what I can tell the only thing she wouldn't have are: lidar, and pro res filming. Two things she has never used or is even aware exists.

Maybe I'm just looking for reassurance it will be a good upgrade for her. Thank you for any input!

yes. the regular 17 is now the best phone for 90% of people. just like the macbook air is the best laptop for 90% of people.

hell i'm upgradingfrom the base 16 to the base 17 just for the screen updates alone.

I think your wife will be quite happy with the upgrade. Sure, she’ll be going from a three camera system to a dual camera setup, but unless she’s serious about using the iPhone for photography I think she’ll be quite content with the 17. If you use the online compare tool you’ll see there’s plenty of additional features she’ll have going from the 13 Pro to base 17…

If she needs the cameras, get the Pro version. If not, the 17 base this year is basically like a Pro, minus the cameras.

Well good enough for me thank you all! I did use that online comparison and yeah I mean it's definitely just like a better version except for two cameras instead of three. She takes photos but just like our pets, kids etc. so no pro stuff.

Ok that satisfies me with going ahead with it thank you all again.
