My AppleTV 4K is having issues with the "Continue Watching" function -- it's not updating after I watch episodes of shows.

We started rewatching Severance S1 and got as far as episode 3 before it stopped updating. We were on episode 4 but under CW it still said 3. We watched up until ep6 and it still said ep3. I had to manually select "watched" to get it to advance. And tonight we watched the latest SNL on Peacock and it still showed up on the list even though we finished it.

I've seen users on Reddit report this too. Any fixes?

TVOS 18.3 resolves this problem in newer 4k Apple TVs. For the older 3rd-gen (non-4k) Apple TVs, TVOS 18.3 only partially resolves the problem, requiring frequent restarts/re-logins to iCloud to keep it synching and working.

Hopefully, 18.4 has a more durable fix for the older Apple TVs, but being that they've been out of production for a while now, don't be surprised if the residual issue doesn't get as high a priority as you'd hope.

Does the AppleTV 3 really work with iOS 18? Apple shows this as an obsolete product. I replaced mine about 5 years ago because it wasn't compatible with Sling for streaming. There are a couple threads from at least a year ago saying that the ATV3 no longer lets you login to iCloud, so you can't access any of your media purchases. More than one person claimed to have contacted Apple support and were told the ATV3 is no longer supported.

Still using two ATV4's (aka AppleTV HD) here and they work fine for my needs, but I'm sure their days are numbered since they are also on the obsolete list.
