Something’s just occurred to regarding Disney’s takeover of 20th Century Fox and am now left wondering what repercussions this may have to all the current 20th Century Fox films in iTunes that are 4K.
As we know Disney isn’t a 4K supporter with ATV4K so will we see films such as Logan, Die Hard, Planet of the Apes Trilogy, Alien Covenant, Deadpool, Kingsman etc etc suddenly get a HD downgrade?

Definitely nothing to worry about. I'm sure you know how business works - they all know each other, they all make deals. Heck, I worked in radio for a few years and my gosh, the stories I could tell you about that - it was pretty repulsive!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Don't worry about things that you have no control over. To them it's business. If they see money, they'll grab it.
Plus by next year, who knows, you may be wanting iTunes in 8K with 120fps :) :) :) :) :)
More importantly, HDMI2.1 is going to be a game changer & next years TVs may prove interesting with variable frame rate just like iPad Pro's Pro Motion. There's going to be a lot of upset people with expensive 'obsolete' TVs out there :)
As you can see, it's such a fast moving industry that who knows what could happen in a year.
Being honest, I never thought we'd see a iTunes 4K Dolby Vision store AND a Apple TV with switching frame rate :) :) :) Anything good is possible - in fact, anything great :)

What the previous ones said don't worry about it. There's just obvious negotiations going on behind scenes. Not like Disney has much 4k content anyway. And their only movie that is 4k, guardians of the galaxy vol 2, the digital version doesn't redeem anywhere as 4k right now.

Yeah I’m not overly worried, it just crossed my mind wondering if there was a possibility of a would it could it situation.
I love the optimism that Disney will likely support by the time that years up.
I guess we’ll find out in a year or so time.

Their few 4K movies (GOG 2, Pirates and Cars) are in UHD on UltraViolet.

Seriously Gonzo, don't worry buddy. Just look at the speed at which iTunes is adding 4K DV films - 200+ in the UK, 66 on the 1st October.
Look at it another way, Murdoch's empire allowed iTunes to have 4K HDR now, he could easily have said no and kept it for his Sky q 4K empire!!! He didn't because he knows were the money is. Sky is a dead business in 2017. It belongs in the 1990s. These people think of one thing - there's no loyalty, no humanity to them - they want money and no amount of money is too much for them. Apple is just as bad. They are bloated and greedy. Obese. Disney will see the money and take it - well, at least as there is a market of people willing to pay for film. Funny in a way how pirating film is frowned upon and how these greedy bloated empires/crooks are worshipped. That's capitalism for you. And that's business. And that's why you should never worry about it as it's just a game to them :)

I'm not sure Murdoch sees Sky as a dead business - just look at the state of the Now TV app on the Apple TV! It hasn't been updated in well over 2 years, and is a joke compared to Now TV on literally any other platform. Sky will push Sky Q as their big thing for quite a few years to come.

As for Disney/Fox, this is indeed a worry. It's odd that given the history between Apple and Disney that they couldn't agree 4K terms, and if they continue to disagree then Fox 4K content is at risk. I'll at least watch Die Hard in 4K this xmas before it's hit with a downgrade...

And guess who will buy Disney in the next years??? Apple.
Put it this way - Apple bought BEATS when... BEATS were at their absolute worst - young people had saved hundreds of pounds for these horribly made cheap crap things and guess what - they fell to pieces a few months later. It happened to all of my friends and BEATS after sales service was non existent. By 2013 everyone realised how rubbish the brand one - when you have a bad experience with a brand, an educated person does not buy into it again.
Maybe they thought that Jimmy would change the Apple world but hey, he's old now and the world constantly evolves.
So Apple owing Disney. These greedy fat cats all buy each other. It's a game to them. Of course they will...
