Or does it also take some time off your total minutes allowance??

My sim only contract only gives me 200 mins a month but if FaceTime doesn't use this, then it will be plenty.....but if it does cut into that allowance i may be screwed!

Cheers for any help in advance!

as i know of its just data. but i could be wrong. its just like imessage and cant be charged for that.

is there a way you can log on and check your minutes? Do a facetime call and see if you minutes are effected.

To the best of my knowledge it is strictly data. It's using your data connection to make the entire call and not the voice cellular connection like you would a real telephone call.

Thanks guys, guess the only real way to know for sure is to try it and take note of the before and after figures :)

Facetime is data only. Facetime works great on my Mac and iPad and neither of those have a cell radio.
