Is Family Tree Make for Mac 2 compatible with my iMac?

i just purchased the "Family Tree Make for Mac 2" and before I open the package I want to make sure it can be used on my IMAC - It meets all the minimum system requirements for MAC - is it compatible. When I bought it I thought it meant there was a MAC 1 and then the Newer one is MAC 2. Was I right in my thinnking?
