George Lucas screws up another classic star wars scene. In case you were too dumb to understand what darth vader was thinking during this scene, Lucas has added dialogue to the bluray version to help you out.

Is he?

He took longer than forever to release the entire series in Br so .... yes.

and for the uninformed MISinformed:

HAN SHOT FIRST (and only)

_

It's not like it ruins the trilogy or anything, but that is pretty stupid...

I'm still going to enjoy these on Blu-Ray.

what the hell? Is that real?

It was fine before, it doesn't need any more "nooo"s

lucas is losing it

Lucas is obviously retarded. I would say the prequels were proof enough of that.

Anyway, let's see what Darth Vader thinks of this.

George Lucas is one of the greatest marketing geniuses of the last century. He figured out how to turn what should have been at best a cult classic into a license to print money. As of 2005 he himself was worth $3.5 billion, and the franchise having grossed over $20 billion.

Exactly. The rest of this thread is what's "retarded".

If that is real, that is terrible.

One of those James Earl Jones voice clips (the first "no") sounds like it was taken from Conan the Barbarian (1982 version) when he played Thulsa Doom.

The scene better fits the context of the movie without the added vocal elements.

The ominous silent reversal from being under the influence of the dark side makes Darth Vader seem more conflicted and broken.

The delay until his helmet is removed and he admits that he still has good in him is more dramatic.

Ok, I have officially sci-fi movie geeked out enough for one day.

Time to go back to more computer related dorkery.

Lucas is a just a bit way overhyped I think... The Star Wars movies - all of them from the IV through III, had horrible acting, cheesy effects, and irritating characters.

Then he also goes and rapes the Indiana Jones series. That was sacrilege.

I was expecting something earthshattering but it wasn't really that bad. Of course its the premise of him continually tweaking the movie.

You can over do stuff by constant additions, that is the star wars movies were great on their own. He did not make them more great with his alterations but the opposite.

I heard ewoks blink in the BR version. I think that's a bit more earth shattering. And the noice that Obi Wan makes to scare off the sand people is vastly different.

Just let Star Wars die already.

This^^^

The first couple were OK - well, I was young.

After a while, the scripts were awful and wooden, the acting the same. And the cutsey characters (Ewoks, Jar Jar Bink) made my teeth ache. Clearly present only for marketing some junky toys.

(OOH, I'm going to get it now...) ;) :p
