I had to change my 500gb drive in my Lacie external hd enclosure to a Samsung 250gb drive since the 500gb crashed. Now, I can back up with Time Machine over my AE but I always have errors on the drive that keep it from working. I have to repair the drive each time to keep using the backup.

Is this an hd problem or could it be the enclosure that doesn't like the hd?

Can the enclosure cause this type of problem?

Thanks

This could be a problem streaming the data over your network to the airport extreme, or a problem with the drive itself. Do Time Machine backups work properly when the drive is directly connected to the computer?

The backups seem to work fine when run locally. It's when I run it over the AE that it gets errors. Although I used it over the AE with the first drive and it worked fine.
