Is HD worth reformatting...

My 500gb internal drive on my less than a year old mbp has developed 68 bad blocks according to Techtools. Is this drive as good as gone or is worth reformatting? Would apple cover this under warranty?

If you can easily do this, I would reformat the drive (first wipe by writing zeros to the drive 3x) and then re-run your testing program to see if it has the same result.

Call up Apple and tell them you're concerned. Tell them you keep getting errors and they'll replace it

After reading a little more into our Hitachi drives, I'm not so sure I want to waist time with another one whether under warranty or not. Thinking of upgrading to the 500gb Seagate Momentus XT after reading good things about it.
