I can’t get a definitive if the new 16 series does support 45w wired charging. Some posts say yes and even MKBHD said so in his review video. I have an ankle 67w and I saw it spike to 32-33w for a few seconds but maybe it’s my charger?

If it is legit I am buying it just for this reason. I really could use the faster charging speed. In many situations a 30 minutes break is all I have so if it charges 65% or 70% in 30 minutes, it's a huge improvement for me.

I mean it’s faster than what my 14PM charged at so that’s better I guess. Just wish someone would state it definitively, or even multiple people. I don’t think it would be usb cable limited right?

The USB-C cable that comes in the box supports charging of up to 60 watts. https://www.apple.com/shop/product/...3ec976b9f2889b18c0e6da1dedc8373fe5c29c0097c8b
I think Apple must enable faster charging through an iOS update if it hasn't done so yet.
They use the same 60W USB cable for years. I wouldn't hold my breath for them to enable faster charging. The general update was quite incremental, so if they had faster charging they would have spent 20 mins explaining it on the keynote.

Using the 87W USB-C Macbook charger, my power meter showed it cap out at around 29.5W on my 16PM.

charge test showed 30W max wired with a range of power bricks up to 140W.

Well I guess that answers that. I did see 32-33W when charging at one point though for a few seconds so i guess there’s that?
