So there was talks of AT&T talking right before the 4s came out, and i haven't heard of anything since.

Does anyone know what happened? the last post on this forum that was talking about it was Nov 7th.

I'm really just curious for myself to know when my phone is actually taking advantage of HSPA+ as opposed to regular 3G.

Doubtful...It isn't AT&Ts fault...this is happening on Apple's end...they want everything to be the same...you won't see a change till all the carriers take advantage of 4G.

An indicator shouldn't matter much because the entire HSPA network has been upgraded to HSPA+ on the air interface.

Most devices distinguish between the different types of "3G", but the iPhone hasn't until now.

I don't see why Apple would change that now.

Even my old Nokia feature phone showed 3G and 3.5G on the display, and the best it could do was stupid cut down version of Facebook, Twitter and Email.

It'd be nice to see proper reporting of data connection rate on the iPhone.

My old Motorola V3XX showed 3G or H.
