I may not necessarily know exactly what I am doing in every way but I know I am installing Server right now. I got the trial from Apple's site, as we are planning on upgrading to Leopard Server from a currently Windows based server in a dental office. When I popped the DVD in it asked me if I wanted to upgrade my current installation of Leopard to Leopard Server. I am using my personal computer to play around with the software and make sure everything will run smoothly, so I was not interested in upgrading my current version of Leopard.
I then figured I would try and see what my other options were to install it and play and finally settled on going the Parallels route. The DVD is currently installing, but my question is will it act the same as if it were installed as the main operating system?
I want to make sure that it will network exactly the same as I would like to have a 100% working copy clone of the soon to be new Mac server, before it even comes. I want to know absolutely everything will work just the same as if it were installed as the main operating system.
Reason for doing this is because the current server being used is a Windows server with clients running Windows. We are going to start the process of converting everything at the server. All of the Windows software still needs to run normally as the data files are only being accessed from the server and all of the programs are on the client computers.
Any feedback on this would be greatly appreciated. If you need anymore information just let me know.
