I'm curious to know what iPhone 13 (base) users are experiencing with the current iOS and whether the battery lasts well during the day. I bought it when it first came out and used it for 6-7 months. It was fine. Now it will not be at the same level, but will it upset when purchased?

Unless you are looking for a 13 mini, I wouldn't buy anything less than an iPhone 15. The USB-C charging is infinitely nicer to have than the lightning cable.

As far as iOS 18 goes, I'm running 18.0 on my mini and it's definitely not as nice as 17.whatever was. It could be battery life, it could be general age of the CPU, but with iOS 18 it's starting to show its age in a way it wasn't a few months ago.

Hopefully Apple will release a 17 "small" - I don't care if they call it a mini or air or micro - so I can upgrade.

MagSafe is infinitely nicer than either of them ;) and bonus, it works all the way back to the iPhone 8

I think you meant wireless charging, as my iPhone 8 doesn't have MagSafe. I think iPhone 12 was the first MagSafe model if I'm not mistaken.

To the OP: I didn't notice any slowdown with IOS 18 on my 13 Mini. I can't comment on the battery life, as it was down to 73% health and had to be charged constantly throughout the day.

No, that 4GB RAM won't do well for longevity.

Get iPhone 14 or newer.

True! I’d forgotten that. Regular Qi charging is “okay” but MagSafe is really nice.
