Is iphone 5 worth $410 or 5c is better option?

Hi,

I want to gift iphone to my mother. She is still using old flip phone. I can get iphone 5 (4 months old) for $410 from friend who is upgrading to 5s, is that a good offer or should I just get 5c?

She will be ok with any phone, but she will use the same phone for atleast 3 to 4 year. Considering this is iphone 5 better option or 5c?

Cant make up my mind. Any help or input would be great.

I would like a new brand phone for gift. So 5c

If the 5 is in perfect condition I would get that. A 5c with tax would cost $580ish assuming you are buying out right.

Depends on the condition of the used iPhone 5 and what the cost of the 5C is. They are essentially the same phone with just a different shell.
