Hi-
Is it bad for macbook pro to be constantly running near 60 degrees.

I just connected an external monitor and the mbp is running at 60 degrees...I have it plugged constantly. Before when I didn't have the external the temperature rarely got above 45. Will this seriously diminish the longevity of my mbp? Thanks.

well the gpu does have to render more creating more heat

You didn't state which model you have but my older 2.5 17in MBP is almost always connected to my 50 in plasma and the temps typically hover between 60-65 degrees Celsius. Always seemed normal to me.

I have smcFanControl installed and keep the fans spinning at around 3200 RPM. It keeps the MBP at around 40-50C, which actually allows it to be used in my lap.
