I use my laptop in my office and i like to just have it plugged in until i need to go somewhere...

Question: Is it bad for the battery life to keep it charged for 7-8 hours a day or just charge when the batt life is very low...

Some peeple think that they need to cycle through the battery in the beginning. Ive only charged my new laptop 3 times so far....

Here is a more in depth article on battery care. It also gives you an idea of how much capacity you lose over time by leaving it charged all the time, at different temperatures.

There are like 5 active threads on this matter... But whatever, the absolute best thing to do would be to put as few cycles on the battery as possible just make sure that you use the battery a little bit each day to keep the battery fresh. I do the exact same thing as you though keep it plugged in for most of the day.
