Hi,
I have the apple 24'' Cinema Display for my MBP and I like to run it with the brightness turned all the way up. I'm just worried could this shorten the lifespan of the monitor and is it bad to run it at full brightness all the time?

I'm pretty sure Apple would have tested for stuff like that. If you like it at full brightness then run it at full brightness, it'd be a shame not to use a product to its full awesomeness because you're concerned about maybe affecting it's lifespan.

Stop worrying and get on with it, crank up the brightness!

I'm pretty sure almost every product ever made is designed to work with the potential settings they have....

There has been some threads regarding the color shift issue.
I was one of them that had the problem.

I didn't go through the Apple support,
but was concerned with LED Cinema Display overheating.
When used for many hours, the bottom left corner around the speakers was getting too hot.
Since the color shift problem came when it got hot,
I lowered the brightness setting.

Since the display comes in 100% brightness, I lowered it to about 90%.
Then the issue was gone.
The display wasn't overheating and the color shift issue no longer appeared.
