Hi, I bought a MBP 16" 2019 (i9 2.3GHz, 16GB, 1TB, AMD Radeon Pro 5500M 4GB) around January 2020 with Apple Care+. There is a very small dent in the aluminum area on top of the touch bar. The main thing I would prefer is a higher resolutions screen as I am used to 4K resolutions on the Thinkpads and 4K external display. I am also not a fan of the dongles and the laptop sometimes have fan kicked in for no obvious reason even it was not connected to an external 4K display. Don't know if it is due to furniture arrangement and change in work habit due to the pandemic, I feel pressure from the front edge hitting my forearms. Did not have this problem in other previous models. Sometimes I use Bootcamp to run CAD and other Windows programs.
Is this a good time to get rid of it and buy a M1 Max 16"? Will the Apple trade-in value drop noticeably more if I wait for one more year? Will the new design probably stay for about 5-6 years before the next redesign happen? Too bad we don't know how the M1 Max 16" perform when running Windows using Parallels.
